Dahlia Session

GROWTH

When I first started into my photography journey, I took pictures of anything and everything. I tried all different types of genres – weddings, couples, engagement, people and their pets, events, births and more! It took me awhile me to find what really set my soul on fire. After lots of trial and error I found my passion — working with families.

“Families are like branches on a tree, we grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one”

When I first met this family I was in my experimental phase (discovering what I love) and they were just a couple. They were so much fun to work with, silly and willing to try my weird ideas. I had them stand on either side of a tree and jump out at each other… lame I know. I honestly had no idea what I was doing, but I tried to act like I did, guiding the couples session.

“Be not afraid of growing slowly, only of standing still.”

Fast forward a few years, I got a chance to photograph them again and meet their beautiful daughter! It was just as much fun working with them again and this time I knew more of what I was doing.

WELCOME

The idea of capturing fleeting, intimate details of the current season of your family’s life is one of my greatest passions. I’d like you to pause right now… and think about what you treasure most about this current season. Is it the way your son looks adoringly at your husband, or the way your daughter’s nose wrinkles when she laughs or maybe the way your baby’s head fits perfectly in the nook of your neck?

We never know what twists and turns life has in store for us, and I wholeheartedly believe preserving each season’s unique details is profoundly important.
