Van Datta Family

So if I am being completely honest here, I used to hate indoor lighting… I didn’t understand how to use it, or what “nice lighting” looked like in a home and always, always left feeling defeated dumb and frustrated. But living in Washington, we get a lot of rain and I REALLY wanted to understand it and know how to find that nice lighting.

So I practiced a ton around my home and I did in home sessions with clients. I learned lessons the hard and painful way, I learn best by doing, failing and trying again it seems. One of the biggest things I learned was to walk around all the rooms my clients want to use, opening up all of the windows and finding beautiful lighting to use.

This was one of my first in-home sessions I felt really proud of. I took my time, walked around their home and tested out different lighting. This mama and her beautiful girl helped make my job easy! I LOVE working with them!

WELCOME

The idea of capturing fleeting, intimate details of the current season of your family’s life is one of my greatest passions. I’d like you to pause right now… and think about what you treasure most about this current season. Is it the way your son looks adoringly at your husband, or the way your daughter’s nose wrinkles when she laughs or maybe the way your baby’s head fits perfectly in the nook of your neck?

We never know what twists and turns life has in store for us, and I wholeheartedly believe preserving each season’s unique details is profoundly important.
