Autumn at It’s Peek: Capturing Family Moments at Mt.Rainier

Fall is one of the most breathtaking times at Mt.Rainier, the fall colors are simply unmatched! The vibrant larches, blueberry bushes, snow dusted mountain and blue skies it creates an unforgettable backdrop for family photos.

Tips for a Perfect Session

  • Dress in layers! Base layers, coats, scarves, etc. It can be really cold and it is easy to take layers off as needed. Warm earth tones pop nicely among the scenery.
  • Bring food and snacks for little ones! Sometimes they need a little break once we reach our location.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, the hike up is not long but it is steep. You can always change once we get up there!

What To Expect

I offer these sessions at sunrise. Once the light hits the mountain it is just magical! We meet in the Paradise Visitor Center parking lot and do a short but steep hike up to the location. I have never had one client get up there and feel it wasn’t worth the hike! It is simply breathtaking! These sessions always take place the first week/weekend in October. I have found that the fall colors are at their absolute peek!

The closest town to stay in is Ashford, it is roughly a 30-40 minute drive from there up to the top. My family and I stay there every year making the early morning much easier!

These sessions are popular and  book up so quickly!

WELCOME

The idea of capturing fleeting, intimate details of the current season of your family’s life is one of my greatest passions. I’d like you to pause right now… and think about what you treasure most about this current season. Is it the way your son looks adoringly at your husband, or the way your daughter’s nose wrinkles when she laughs or maybe the way your baby’s head fits perfectly in the nook of your neck?

We never know what twists and turns life has in store for us, and I wholeheartedly believe preserving each season’s unique details is profoundly important.
