My Approach To Family Photos
I don’t believe family photos should be about everyone looking at the camera and smiling in their matching outfits. To me they are about something much deeper: Connection.
People often want picture-perfect moments, but to me the most powerful images are the ones where real life shines through. A child’s goofy “camera” smile. The genuine belly laughs. Sweet snuggles. Those quiet moments that say “this is us”

The Beauty Of Real Moments
Perfection is posed. Connection is felt.
Some of the most memorable images happen when you forget the camera is even there. A big hug that turns into a tickle fight. A silly joke whispered in your ear. Your toddlers hilarious facial expression. These moments aren’t staged – they are real moments unfolding in your family’s story, exactly as it is right now. And that is beautiful.

Connection Matters
Years from now when you flip through your photo album you won’t remember if your hair wasn’t perfect or if everyone looked at the camera at the same time. My hope is that you will remember how it felt to be together in those moments. You will see love, joy and laugher. You will see the bond that makes your family uniquely yours.

Tips to Embrace Connection During Your Session
- Focus on each other not the camera; engage, interact, play, snuggle – it’s about you.
- Let your kids be themselves. Their wild or shy energy is part of your story.
- Trust your photographer. I will provide guidance and also know when to step back and let moments unfold.
- Be present. The best photos are when you are simply in the moment together.
