Why should I hire a professional photographer?

Great question!

As our family grows so does our schedule. Life can tend to get busier and busier, and we may move so fast that we lose sight of the beauty and love growing in our own families. We adapt to this and can become beauty-blind to the goodness thriving right before us in our families.

This session is a perfect example of why investing in a professional photographer is SO worth it.

From these photos which little girl do think was throwing a fit for most of the session? Can you guess? Maybe if you have the trained eye of a mama, but I would venture to guess you can’t immediately tell.

This mama and her family were traveling to WA from TX visiting family. The girls were TIRED, out of their element, out of their routine and up early for our session. One little girl warmed up to me quickly and even let me hold her; the other little one just wanted her mama and to be HOME. I get it. I get can get that way too towards the ends of a vacation. It happens.

The mama in this session is also a photographer, and she was quite concerned that we weren’t able to get any good shots. From her point of view (right in the middle), things didn’t seem so good. But to me, all I saw was love, snuggling, laughter, big emotions pouring out, the gentleness of a mama’s unconditional love, silliness and tenderness. When we are right in the thick of things, it’s hard to see the truth and beauty of what we are experiencing.

That is the incredibly wonderful thing about hiring a professional photographer: they see things from an entirely different perspective – a fresh one, maybe one you haven’t noticed before. They are able to stand close by and help you find the love and beauty growing in your family that you might be blind to.

WELCOME

The idea of capturing fleeting, intimate details of the current season of your family’s life is one of my greatest passions. I’d like you to pause right now… and think about what you treasure most about this current season. Is it the way your son looks adoringly at your husband, or the way your daughter’s nose wrinkles when she laughs or maybe the way your baby’s head fits perfectly in the nook of your neck?

We never know what twists and turns life has in store for us, and I wholeheartedly believe preserving each season’s unique details is profoundly important.
